Active ingredients of Saw palmetto products and Third party analysis result
Saw palmetto extract, derived from the berries of the Serenoa repens, is a natural pharma with a rich composition of bioactive compounds. Such as fatty acids, plant sterols, flavonoids, polyphenols, 5-α-reductase inhibitors. All these key ingredients contribute to the therapeutic properties of Saw palmetto products.
Saw palmetto extract contains various fatty acids, including high content of Lauric acid, Oleic acid. There is a specific proportional relationship between these fatty acids, these fatty acids play a vital role in maintaining overall health and supporting cellular function. There are also abundant of Phytosterols, such as beta-sitosterol, Brassicasterol, Stigmasterol, Campesterol in Saw palmetto extract, these plant sterols help regulate hormonal balance. Beta-sitosterol, in particular, has shown promising effects in supporting prostate health and reducing symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
The appearance of Saw palmetto extracts with different contents is also different. The 85% high content of fatty acid specification has an oily appearance, suitable for soft capsule products. The 25% & 45% fatty acid content specifications is fine powder, for tablet and hard capsule products.
Saw palmetto oil
Saw palmetto oil is obtained from comminuted Saw Palmetto berries by extraction with hydroalcoholic mixtures or with solvent hexane or by supercritical extraction with carbon dioxide. The ratio of starting crude plant material to Extract oil is from 8.0 :1 to 14.3 :1. The Extract oil contains NLT 85.0% of fatty acids, NLT 0.2% of sterols, and NLT 0.1% of β-sitosterol, all on the anhydrous basis. The lipophilic Extract contains NLT 0.15% and NMT 0.35% of long-chain alcohols. We adopt the CO2 supercritical extraction to obtain Saw Palmetto Oil firstly, then produce Saw Palmetto Extract Powder through microencapsulation technology.
Saw palmetto oil is rich in various fatty acids and volatile oils, mainly including Oleic acid, Lauric acid, Myristic acid, Palmitic acid, Linoleic acid, Caproic acid, Caprylic acid, Capric acid, Stearic acid, Linolenic acid, and Palmitoleic acid. There is a special proportional relationship between these fatty acids.

Saw palmetto extract powder
Why made the extract powder?
Saw palmetto oil contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids, after long-term storage, the unsaturated fatty acids are easily oxidized, the oil will become rancid.
Our saw palmetto berry extract powder uses microcapsule powder process. Use a medical excipients, protable water, together with oil with specific proportion, then mix and shear in high-speed to a viscous, uniformly dispersed liquid, sprayed into fine powder. Finally, we get a powder what contain higher total fatty acids, and more than 90% of the oil molecules are wrapped by auxiliary materials.
The extract powder is not easy to be oxidized, has excellent fluidity and water dispersibility.
Regulations and Compliance
Products quality is the life of our enterprise. Our factory controlled the product quality in every process from raw material purchasing to warehousing. We tested physical&chemical
parameters like Water, Ash, Density, Iodine, Peroxide value etc. in our lab, also tested and
compared products with US suppliers, applied SGS, EUROFIN, DNA finger-print etc. external lab tests.
Our Saw Palmetto Products conform to USP41, EP10.0, BP 2017. Main fatty acids tested according to Association of Analytical Communities AOAC 996.06-2008 Fat(Total, Saturated, and Unsaturated) in Foods, Hydrolytic Extraction Gas Chromatographic Method. The total fatty acid of our Saw Palmetto Oil is NLT85%, and the Saw Palmetto Extract Powder is 25% and 45% specifications.
We usually provide customized specifications.
